Cubs take on the County Challenge Day

Beavers go for a swim in the Sea5 members of the 18th Cambridge Cub Pack have joined hundreds of Cubs from across Cambridgeshire for the annual County Cub Challenge Day.

The event, which took place at the Copley Scout Centre in St Ives, gave the Cubs a chance to experience a range of modern and traditional scouting activities including archery, canoeing, fire lighting, climbing and orienteering.

For many cubs this was the first time they have been given the opportunity to try these activities. 18th Cub Leader Charles Brown said it was good for them to have a go;

"I was very happy with what the cubs did today, the boys have done brilliantly! I'm sure that they will be able to show these skills off to some of the other cubs, and use them regularly when they get to Scouts."

All Cubs who participated in the day also took home a special badge which they can wear on their uniform as proof of their attendance and skills training.
