Animal-Friendly Beavers enjoy Nature Sleepover

Summer Sleepover 200830 Beavers from the 12th, 18th and 26th Cambridge have been learning about wildlife at a special nature-based sleepover.

The event, held at Milton Community Centre and Country Park, took advantage of the local surroundings and provided a great opportunity for the Beavers to investigate animal habitats and ecosystems.

Along with basic activities such as bark rubbing and leaf collecting, the Beavers made bird houses and bird feeders, went pond dipping in search of aquatic wildlife, and went bug hunting under logs, in long grass and in trees.

The sleepover also allowed the Beavers to unwind, with plenty of run-about time on the green, a chance to fly kites and be boisterous with a pillow fight before breakfast.

Claire Rickard, who took charge of the event, was happy with how the sleepover has run;

"It's been amazing! The beavers have been given a lot of freedom to do all sorts of activities. Everyone, including the leaders, has felt really relaxed and there has been a great atmsophere all weekend."

The sleepover is the final event in a Summer term filled with Environmental activities.
