Beaver Leaders win Community Award |
||||||||||||||||||
At a glittering ceremony at Homerton College, the pair were among four local projects to receive an award in the "Community Support" category. As well as a certificate, the duo picked up a cheque for £430. Both have been recognised for their commitments to Scouting whilst also providing additional services to the community. Emma regularly helps the elderly in Chesterton, whilst Simon is a Community Governor for Kings Hedges Primary School. Simon was unable to attend the awards ceremony due to commitments with the Scout Troop. However, Emma, along with daughter Kirsty Roberts, 26th leader Jeanette Hogg and 12th leader Becky Whitehead were all on hand to collect the award from the Mayor of Cambridge. The pair are hoping to put the money towards some new tents for the 18th. |
