Beavers Perform Easter Show |
||||||||||||||||||
The performance incorporated elements of 'moral values' as part of the term's "Faith" theme. Starting with a little song and dance about Easter Bunnies, half the group donned special masks to perform a play about a bunny who spends the day being naughty, only to end up losing all his friends in the process. In seeing the error of his ways, he agrees to be good and makes amends for his bad behaviour. Another song followed, then the other half of the group performed an adaptation of the 'Good Samaritan' story about a man who is robbed and a stranger who comes to his aid. To finish off, everyone formed a line to perform a special Easter version of the 'Hokey Cokey'...which the audience were invited to join in with. Speaking after the show, Assistant Beaver Leader Simon Gates mentioned; "It was never going to rival anything the schools could do, but I'm proud of what the Beavers have achieved in the three hours they've had to prepare. They've studied the plays, learnt the songs, learnt the actions, remembered the order and put on a very good show. The evening also saw the end of the Spring Term Colony Competition between the 12th, 18th & 26th Beavers. Though the 18th came second overall with 343 points, their joint eveing with the eventual winners (12th) mean they'll also benefit from a special Easter party on the final evening of term. |
