18th say "Goodbye" to Beaver and Cub Duo

Claire Richard and Daniel Smith leave groupThe 18th Cambridge Scout Group is saying goodbye to two of its leaders over the Summer. Claire Rickard and Daniel Smith are both moving on following the end of their respective University courses.

Claire Rickard has been assisting with the Beavers since the beginning of 2007. Her primary appointment as Assistant Beaver Leader at the 12th Cambridge eventually led to her joining the 18th through the 2006 TriBe Agreement.

During her time in the colony, Claire has brought a lot of laughter and plenty of new ideas. She has always been willing to give anything a go and showed her potential as a leader when she stepped forward to take charge of the Summer Sleepover, which was a great success.

Claire is returning to Birmingham to start Law School after studying at Anglia Ruskin University. However, she is promising to keep close contact and will return for the Group Camp in October, as well as many other Beaver Scouting events in the future.

Cub Leader Daniel Smith has been studying at Cambridge University and came to the group as a member of CUSAGC, the Cambridge University Scout and Guide Club. Like Claire, Daniel's course has come to an end so he is relocating closer to home.

During his time in the pack, Daniel has provided a traditional twist to modern scouting and has used his experience as a scout from Chester to teach the Cubs some 'new tricks'.

The 18th Cambridge would like to wish both Claire and Daniel well for the future.
