18th Given £200 Grant

The 18th Cambridge Scout Group has recently been awarded a grant of £200 to purchase a storage shed for the group's equipment.

With storage space at the Church Hall becoming increasingly limited, the group has struggled in recent years to store all tents and camping equipment on site, so many leaders have taken it upon themselves to store the equipment at home instead.

Though this has resolved many short term problems, the Executive Committee has found it increasingly difficult to keep track of 'who has what' so suggested applying for a grant which could provide a single facility for storing everything.

Group Scout Leader, Alan Leader, said the grant was good news and would aid the cause;

"We've been wanting a proper storage shed for ages so I'm glad we can now get one with the help of a grant."

The group now has three months to purchase the storage shed, find a suitable location to build it and report back to the donor. The leaders will then begin depositing group equipment before de-cluttering the Church Hall.
