Group set sights on Partnership Awards |
||||||||||||||||||
The special scouting awards are only available to scouts who work together as an entire scout group to complete specific activities. There are three Partnership Awards up for grabs; Faith, Environment and International. The Beavers have already started work on Environment, with a special evening devoted to recycling, carbon footprints and the Country Code. They will also carry an environmental theme on numerous outings in the summer term, as well as a sleepover based on 'Nature'. For International, the Beavers have designed their own 'scout section for 6-8 year olds' for countries that do not have Beaver Scouting. They are also looking to start up a penpal system with a foreign scout group, and put together gift boxes for third-world/developing countries. For their International project, the Cubs have teamed up with Project Meridian, a special scouting expedition which will see Scouts and Explorer Scouts from Cambridgeshire travelling to Ghana over the Summer to build a new scout hut and community facility. The Cubs will be working closely with members of the 26th Cambridge Scout Group to provide scouting resources and ideas for "British" scout games and activities. It is hoped the group will complete one of the awards by the Summer, or mid Autumn at the latest. |
